Hot Springs State Park and Bison Viewing

The Hot Springs State Bison Herd is the central herd for the Wyoming State Parks. The Hot Springs State Park herd averages more than 20 animals at the present time. The herd is free roaming within the boundaries of the pasture for the majority of the year.

The Big Horn River Swinging Bridge

The suspension foot bridge across the Bighorn River is commonly called "The Swinging Bridge." The bridge offers a unique vantage point from which to view the Bighorn River and Mineral Terrace.

Legend Rock State Petroglyphs

Legend Rock State Petroglyphs Site has been developed for public viewing of the cliff face. The site is approximately 30 miles northwest of Thermopolis and visitation of the site must be arranged through Hot Springs State Park headquarters or the State Bath House. For information contact park staff.

Rainbow Terraces

Long time deposits from the mineral-laden water have created a rainbow underfoot. The paved walkways along the riverfront take you over centuries of sediment, splendidly brushed by algae, plankton, and mineral deposits.
